Diamond Harbour is a town and a municipality of the South 24 Parganas district in the Indian state of West Bengal.It is 54 kms from kolkata by car via NH 117,It is approachable by local train also from Sealdah South station.

journey time by car 2 to 2hr30 mins depending on traffic.road condition from Behala to Joka is congested.

Diamond Harbour is on the confluence of the river Hooghly with the Bay of Bengal.It is a fishing port also, Nogendra Bazaar is the largest Fish bazaar in West Bengal kolkata, 

Presently there is hardly anything to see except for the river.the bank is neat and ciean with lots of benches.well lighted at night.

There are few good hotels, notably SAGARIKA (GOVT) & PUNYALAXMI(PVT) If you visit Diamond Harbour, I'd recommend dining out at Sagarika (W.B. Tourism) and crossing the road to sit on the benches along the river-side, to watch a spectacular sun-rise or sun-down views.Diamond Harbour is an agricultural trade centre. Rice milling is the chief industry. An important steamer stop, it contains the customhouse and the office of the harbourmaster for ships proceeding up the Hugli to Kolkata (Calcutta). Tourism is a growing industry.The South Bengal Museum, the Naval Camp and the Swiss Gate are some other tourist spots situated in Diamond Harbour. The Kapil Muni Temple is another tourist attraction located in the town. This temple was built by Swami Ramanad in 1437 and is dedicated to sage Kapila Muni. Just south lies the fort of Chingrikhali. Diamond Harbour has colleges affiliated with the University of Calcutta, and here Medical College, Polytechnic and Engineering college even the Woman University are present and the most popular places in Diamond Harbour is River bank,

Diamond Harbour is in the southern suburbs of Kolkata, on the eastern banks of the Hooghly River quite near where the river meets the Bay of Bengal. This small town is a popular weekend tourist spot located in South 24 Parganas district.

Diamond Harbour was frequented by the Portuguese pirates. Thus, the site features some ruins associated with the pirates, the most notable being the remnants of the Chingrikhali Fort, built in the 16th century. According to the locals, the fort was inhabited by the Portuguese pirates. Tourists also visit the Sarisha Ramkrishna Mission Ashram, another prominent highlight of the site. Diamond Harbour also houses an age-old lighthouse, which is also a major tourist attraction. However, the best thing to do in Diamond Harbour is to sit beside the river and watch the passing boats.

A riverside town in the southern suburbs of the city of joy, Kolkata, Diamond Harbour is familiarly known as the ‘sunset point away from crowd’. Diamond Harbour is where river Hoogly merges with the Bay of Bengal.
